Hawthorn House

Nestled within the leafy streets of Hawthorn East, this character-filled cottage was reimagined to better support modern living, with a focus on entertaining, connection to the garden and a refined material palette.

The rear of the home was opened up with full-height windows and doors, drawing in natural light and strengthening the connection to the courtyard. The kitchen was completely reconfigured, complemented by a custom banquette dining nook, while the laundry was expanded to improve functionality. Upstairs, the primary suite was redesigned with a generous ensuite and tailored robes.

Interiors feel calm and considered, grounded in a warm, neutral palette that respects the home’s heritage while introducing a more sophisticated edge. Key features include Del Fuego quartzite across the kitchen and ensuite, a sculptural stone bath, and custom joinery designed to maximise every inch.

The result is a home that feels elevated yet effortless, balancing comfort, functionality, and quiet sophistication.
